Online Bingo

June 5th, 2010 | Comments Off | Posted in Guides

One of the more interesting facts about the game of Bingo is that it was first known as Beano and was a carnival game discovered by a traveling salesman in the early part of the 20th Century. Of course, long before there were online casinos, Bingo was played not only in casinos, but in a variety of different settings such as Bingo halls. It was not at first designed for wagering money, instead being seen as a social game where people could get together to win a variety of prizes. However, churches and other civic groups in the United States rapidly adopted this particular game as a great way to raise funds for a variety of social and charitable causes. Since the game is so simple to learn it has developed a very large following who love the chance to cry out Bingo! when they win whether they are at a casino, a Bingo all or playing Online Bingo from the comfort of their own homes. The online version of this game has grown significantly in its complexity because the web based setting offers a much higher level of functionality than would be easy to explain in a group setting offline.

Those who play Online Bingo are playing a game very similar in nature to the one found offline. The basic goal is incredibly simple. All a person needs to do is get their gaming card which is assigned to them in the online casino where they are playing and then pay attention to the letter and number combinations called out. In some games this will be in text form and in others, it is done audibly and players listen over their headsets or speaker systems. The numbered grid the players have is what they will check against to see if they can cover one of the grids. There are now complex patterns which can be filled in beyond the lines of horizontal, vertical or diagonal. In the Online Bingo world it is often common to play a large number of cards at any given time and try to put together the right combination of filled in numbers to achieve bingo.

Online Slots

Perhaps one of the most important inventions to shape the modern casino environment as we know it today is the slot machine. While these have their fair share of lovers as well as haters, it is certainly a crucial part of the casino atmosphere. They were first invented during the early part of the Twentieth Century during a time when they were primarily mechanical in nature, but they quickly evolved into highly complex electronic games that are now loved the world over. It is no surprise then that these would find their way onto the web with the rise of online casinos and today millions enjoy Online Slots around the world each day. The online versions are very similar to the machines except that instead of inserting coins, tokens or barcodes, players simply use the credits in their account for each pull of the digital slot machine. Online Slots are popular in the online casino gaming world primarily due to two major factors. The first of these is that they offer a form of entertainment that is more colorful and interactive than some of the other traditional table games that have been ported to the internet and the second reason is due to progressive jackpots where players stand to win millions of dollars in a single pull if all of their symbols line up correctly.

In order to win a game of Online Slots, the players will generally need to line up the symbols the same way they would on a machine. These days this process is rather complex and it can involve far more than a horizontal match up, with some machines offering six or even 9 different ways to create a match during a single pull. The odds are dependent upon not only the type of match, but the symbols that are matched and this will determine the type and quantity of the pay out. Since the games are also there for entertainment purposes, it is not uncommon to find slots that will reward the user with fun videos or other things that tie to the overall theme of the machine they are playing, both online and off. Online there are themed games that utilize popular movies, music and even video games.

Video Poker

November 11th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in Guides

Casinos around the United States and other parts of the world have found that when it comes to their electronic based game offerings, Video Poker is almost always one of the most popular. While it is a fairly new type of game in terms of those offered in casinos, Video Poker is very simple to play and often does not require a large wager so it is a very accessible game that many of those new to casinos prefer to try out before they attempt the more expensive and possibly intimidating table games where their lack of experience might end up being more evident. This game first came out when the price of TV style monitors and solid state electronic computing technology finally lowered in price during the middle of the 70’s. Once this happened, video games took off and Video Poker was among those games. Its ease of play has made it a star and the fact that players will be able to play through a hand quickly has also helped it achieve quite a dedicated following, as well. The most common form of Video Poker is based on the Five Card Draw style of poker, but there are other varieties found in casinos, especially those which are primarily based online. Another interesting fact about Video Poker machines is that they can often be found outside of casinos in places where they are legal such as truck stops or convenience stores in Nevada.

One of the big selling points for the Video Poker machines is the rapid pace of the game and this is due to the fact that today, instead of having to carry around piles of coins or tokens, players are able to buy credits to play games on barcoded tickets which they simply slide into the machines. Once they hit the deal button, the computer draws five cards from them and they can select which they wish to keep and which they prefer to have replaced. The goal, like in five card draw poker at a standard casino table, is to beat the dealer’s hand. If players can do this and have at least a pair of Jacks then they will receive a pay out.

Bonuses

October 12th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in Guides

One of the big reasons that people begin taking part in the online casino experience is thanks to the fact that there are really great bonuses available for those who want to try their luck out online. These bonuses prove to be a huge draw and a big aid that can help players get started, improve their gaming experience and even reduce their losses if they manage to find the right games. As online businesses, these types of casinos have to work hard to drum up customers and keep them coming back for more so the offer lucrative and generous bonuses to those who want to sign up with their casino to get started playing. Of course, there are a variety of bonuses and this is a great lure, but one of the real reasons people play online is that it is a lot cheaper than visiting a land based casino. When players combine the right bonuses they can get a much cheaper experience online than in any other casino in the world today.

As mentioned earlier, sign up bonuses are one of the biggest draws of new customers to the casinos online because they give the player some money right from the beginning to get started wagering and having fun. These work in a certain way and it is important to read the rulings, but generally they are given to those with a new account and match what that player is going to wager, up to a certain pre set limit. This is a great way to have more gaming power right from the start and really get the most out of the games being offered. Since players are able to wager higher amounts that also means that they are able to win bigger sums of cash. Of course, these bonuses can sometimes be subtracted from the win, so one needs to make sure they understand whether or not this is the case in advance.

There are also what are known as a sticky bonus that can ride on top of the wagers that the player is making and allow them to wager even more cash than they would have. These bonuses are almost never permitted to be withdrawn from an account, unlike a few of the signup bonuses out there. With a stick bonus, the whole idea is to have leveraging power to bet more and, as a result, win more. There are cashable bonuses out there, too, but these are far less common because they allow the player to immediately withdraw the money after just a little bit of gaming. They are a loss leader in the online casino industry so those who want to go this route will definitely want to look around for them as they are seldom ever offered. Cashback bonuses are also available that help players to reduce their losses and these are popular because they let the players cut their losses and keep playing if they would like to. In addition to these bonuses there are comp points in some casinos which can be turned in for bonuses other than cash such as prizes or free play.

Pachinko

September 19th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in Guides

Coming from the land of Japan where its popularity is simply a cultural phenomenon, Pachinko is a fairly recent entrant to the world casino stage, but it has set in with a vengeance and is now one of the more popular games in casinos because of its unusual mix of video fun and a chance to win serious amounts of money. What is interesting about Pachinko as far as its history goes is that the game did not actually start out in Japan, it was originally invented in the United States as a children’s game. This early corinth game based on Corinthian Bagetelle, was never wildly popular in the US, but when it arrived in Japan during the 20’s and 30’s, it was turned into a wagering game that caught the Japanese imagination and created a fever for this special type of gambling. The early versions of Pachinko were not nearly as complex as they are today since the hi tech features had yet to be invented, but they relied on a mechanical version of the game which would drop the ball down through a forest of pins and allow the players to win prizes since in Japan it is not permitted to gamble in most instances. By the 80’s, the game had become electronic so there was no need to get balls from the Pachinko parlour personnel and this has made the game much faster in pace.

There are a huge variety of different themes when it comes to Pachinko and this has made the game nearly as much about the fun that can be had playing it as the money or prizes which can be won. There are different rules that vary by casino, but the basic idea of Pachinko is that there are balls, such as in a pinball machine, and the player triggers these to drop down through a series of obstacles, hoping that along the way they will randomly find their way into one of the holes that offer free play, prizes or money – depending upon the place where Pachinko is being played. Once the ball falls in the whole a type of slot game comes up and the winnings are randomized at this point.

History of Land Based and Online Casinos

September 11th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in Guides

While historians agree that gambling has been around in some form or another since the very dawn of human civilizations, even in their very earliest tribal forms, it can be said that we do not yet know for sure when the very first instances of wagering first took place. The evidence does suggest that things got started quite early, however it would be a while before organized wagering would take place. The first instances of this sort of sanctioned and official gambling would have taken place back in Ancient China, thousands of years ago. This may not be the very start, but there are documents that remain which list this kind of activity occurring so that is where experts start things off. Then, it would be in the 17 Century that the next step would be taken in Europe where the very first casinos would be set up. These were initially what their Latin name means which is ‘little house. These early casinos were simply small buildings in the villas of rich Italians where they would have guests over to hear music and gamble. After this, there would be a casino to arise in Italy, as well, in the city of Venice. This Casino di Venezia was the very first real casino similar to what we know today and it is still in existence, regularly drawing people from all over the world who go there to try their luck at wagering in the world’s first ever casino. While other parts of Europe were not as quick to develop casinos of their own due to social repression, there would come a big change that got quite a bit of Europe into gaming.

Monaco was a huge step in this modern direction and it is today famous all over the world. Beginning in 1861, Monaco still operates just as it always has. When the British Empire was not keen on betting, it was Monaco that the British could escape to and the same could be said of a wide variety of other European places. By the time the United States won it’s freedom from Britain, it had developed something of its own gaming culture and this would be a huge past time in the US although the country has traditionally swung back and forth on how it feels about gaming in general. The Wild West epoch was certainly a time of gambling all through the US, but it would be in the middle of the Great Depression that the nation’s real first casino would open in the now legendary city of Las Vegas. Here, casinos would pop up like crazy and the city would come to be known all across the world as a haven for gamblers.

The games would grow in popularity in Vegas, Monaco and Macau as all the different games mixed and mingled around the world. Soon one was as likely to see poker in Macau as they were to play Sic Bo in Monaco. The heritages mixed together and today we see it all going online. Building on the success of the pachinko and slot machines, gaming went first mechanical and then digital. Today there are online casinos that cater to folks from across the globe, all of whom love the fun of wagering over the web.

Online Casino Types

July 22nd, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in Guides

One thing is for sure when it comes to nearly any casino on the planet and that is that the fun never has to end. That is why so many people flock from around the world to casinos in order to have a great time any time of day or night and that is the exact same thrill that the online casinos are able to offer to those who play their games over the internet. While land based casinos have been popular for quite some time, it is only recently, just before the turn of the millennium, that the casinos on the internet first sprang up. These are an excellent and budget friendly alternative for those who do not have either the funds or the desire to travel to a different location in order to get their gaming in. Because of their ease of access and excitement, it is very common to see huge numbers of people in an online casino at any given time. They offer a great deal of fun and, of course, the same excellent chance to win a whole lot of cash while having a blast.

For those who want to get right in on the action, possibly the best type of casino offered would be the downloadable software casinos. They offer the most thrill because they have the highest capacity for sound and graphics which means the games are a lot closer to traditional video games than with the other types of games out there. These are require a lengthy download at first, but with today’s broadband that can usually take under an hour and the gaming experience itself is much richer than the other types of online casinos on the market today. This version of the online casino is also quite a bit more secure so players may want to take this into account depending upon where they live. A basic virus scanner should be employed just as with any other type of website, casino or not, that one visits.

A choice that is rising in popularity these days are the live online casinos that feature real human dealers performing the traditional roles that are sometimes relegated to the computer in online casinos. The players get to watch the dealers over video feeds and this gives them a more personal form of interaction with the games that many are coming to prefer. This type of casino is the newest and many experts believe it will quickly become the most popular.

However, it all started with the web based casinos as they were the very first to come online. In the beginning, these used HTML but that is not the case today. Now with Flash, Java and Shockwave, there are far more graphics and sounds than there ever were in the past and this helps to create a much more interesting gaming experience that players often enjoy greatly. The games can start right away and there is nothing to download so this makes things easy for anyone who is used to the web already.
